Failover mecanism
Cloud-based Infrastructure like Azure Storage offers geo-redundancy options to ensure high availability and therefore, some Azure Regions offer a failover mecanism.
2 Options may be considered : Choose the Right Azure Region for You | Microsoft Azure
Deploy Azure Resources such as Azure Storage in a Region that does not support the FAILOVER mecanism : Canada East Region.
Deploy Azure Resources such as Azure Storage in a Region that supports the FAILOVER mecanism : Canada Central Region.
Backup mecanism
Cloud-based Infrastructure like Azure Backup Center provides a backup solution to protect ou Azure Blob in Azure Storage Account : Overview of Azure Blobs backup - Azure Backup | Microsoft Learn . The backup could be configured as a continous backup or a periodic backup and be based a Policy (retention, schedule and rules of execution). And, the execution would be triggered from a Backup Vault which has access and the right permissions related to Azure Strorage.
